My perspectives of weddings has changed dramatically over the last few years. Being a part of the wedding industry it was bound to happen. So rarely do I attend weddings as a guest anymore. Even rarer do I turn away inquiries on weekends that I am not booked for and are not national holidays!! Dimple and Ashwin's wedding was a special case. I've known Dimple for more than a decade and she is the closest thing I have to a sister. We have spent hours on the phone, traveled all over the world together and have seen each other through life. I still remember when Dimple first told me about Ashwin. The way her voice changed when she spoke of him, the run ins they had on the island that they both live on (Saint Maarten). Ever since the beginning I knew they would end up together because they are perfect for each other.
So although I was a guest at the wedding, I couldn't resist taking photos, even if it was for only 30 minutes out of a four day grand affair that was one of the most perfectly planned and executed weddings I have ever seen. (Yeah, I know, I am a little biased) Below are my favorite images . A little background for those of you who are not as familiar with South Asian and Indian Weddings. My photos are taken from the time the Groom comes to pick up the Bride till he walks with her to the ceremony site. (Nope, I didn't photograph the ceremony - thats right folks, I did what wedding guests should do and enjoyed the wedding in the moment and left picture taking to the professionals =)
